I want to say thanks to the 96 of you who participated with me in the NoChinDeluxe Extreme Challenge yesterday! The tournament was a big success, and many of you who were involved were active on the forums, giving out tips, play-by-plays, and leaderboard updates. I got nothing but positive feedback from you all, and I’m glad that the difficulty of this tournament didn’t scare you away. Continue Reading »

Announcing the NoChinDeluxe Extreme Challenge!
Labor Day – Monday, September 6th, 2010
Tired of finding the game too easy? Ready to really test your skills? Welcome to the NCD Extreme Challenge! Get ready for 24 hours of grueling competition in the most difficult online tournament offered since the launch of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.
For my first extreme challenge, I am sending you to Bay Hill. That’s all you need to know for now.
But! I am going to make it worth your efforts. First, I have increased the prize pool to $50 Million, instead of the usual $32 Million. So the top spots will earn a handsome chunk of change to help you advance on the leaderboards. In addition to this, I am offering a free copy of Madden 2011 for the Wii to the winner, furnished by our good friends at EA Sports!
Think you have what it takes? The NCD Extreme Challenge awaits you! You’ll find it in-game as a Daily Pro selection within the Live Tournaments section online. The tournament will open on Labor Day, September 6th, and will run for 24 hours. Good luck, and I’ll see you out there!

Some of you may have heard that I was able to get my hands on a copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011 earlier this week, and so I’ve been busily building up the stats on my profile golfer and getting to know the new swing systems. Since the game doesn’t officially launch in North America until Tuesday, June 8th, I’ve tried to offer the community some previews of what they can expect in the new game based on what I’ve played so far. I successfully got my profile golfer up to max stats, and you can read about how I did that in the previous article I posted, Profile Building Tips for TW11. Other than that, I put together these two short videos to showcase the new TourPro swing mode, and the new TrueView camera mode. Continue Reading »

If you missed that article on the EASports main Tiger Woods PGA Tour website, you can find the link below. In this article we talked about some new features regarding the experience and attributes systems. Here’s the link:

Today, ESPN released an article revealing some of the new features coming for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011. While most of the article focuses on the Xbox version of the game, the last paragraph talks about some features specific to the Wii system. As I mentioned two weeks ago, I had the privilege of play-testing the new TW11 game for the Wii, and I thought I’d give you some reactions to some of the things mentioned in that last paragraph. This is just a quick announcement for those of you visiting for the first time or for those who have recently started visiting since they got TW10. I know there aren’t a lot of articles in the TW10 section yet, mainly because the game hasn’t changed all that much from TW09, and most of the older articles are still relevant. I really need to reorganize the site to make that blatantly obvious to newer visitors, but I haven’t had a chance to do it yet. So this is my quick, albeit lazy, bandaid approach to the problem for the time being.
So if you are visiting for the first time or haven’t had a chance to dig into the archives, I encourage you to check out the TW09 articles, because all the info about using loft, reading breaks in putts, club tuning, etc., still applies to the new game. And lastly, I just wanted to thank all of you who have left such encouraging comments on various parts of the site and have taken the time to send such nice emails. As you can see, I’ve chosen to keep the site ad-free (and thus money-free), and the gratitude and encouragement I get from all of you is simply overwhelming at times. So thanks for adding your own personal touch to the site and for making it fun for me to keep it going!

It’s no surprise that the forums are filling up quickly with questions from eager players and answers in the forms of impromptu reviews and progress reports. I love it! The gaming sites are also coming around with their official reviews. Everything is looking pretty positive so far. So I wanted to add to the mix, not with a “I like this” or “I like that” approach, and not quite a “Here’s every single feature of the game laid out for you” approach either, but just a simple sampling of the stuff I think competitive gamers will care about most. Read on to get the highlights from my experiences so far… Continue Reading »
