-29 at Doral
There’s been some chatter on the forums that some players would be interested in seeing more videos of my gameplay to get a sense of my play style, my club setup, and club tuning. Well, here you go! Recently, I’ve been on a little personal quest to see how low I can go. What is the lowest score I could possibly shoot? So far, a -29 is it. You’ll see in the following videos that I actually had a huge potential to go much lower, potentially to a -32, but I made some critical mistakes along the way. I’ll keep practicing and will post more videos as I get better scores, but for now you can check out my -29 at Doral below.
Here’s Part I…
And this is Part II…
nice round…. how did you record it.?
I just use a little cheapy Composite-to-USB converter. It lets you plug your Wii directly into your computer.
NoChin…I thought you were using the Advanced Swing and putting….I’m trying to make it as realistic as possible. Your putting has helped me TREMENDOUSLY, but I’m still having issues with my approach shots….do you have anything for us using the advanced swing/putting? (I don’t like that you can affect the spin on your ball after you hit the shot, I think your shot should dictate that….IMHO….no knock on you and others that don’t use the advanced swing)
I’ve actually been playing about 95% of my online games in what we call “sim” mode, which is advanced swing, no spin, no putt preview, no putt meter, and sometimes no yardages. One guy keeps pushing for no aim zooming either, but I think that’s a little crazy! Anyway, as you said, it’s a completely different game. I haven’t offered much advice on playing that way because not many players do play that way, but I’ve been thinking about recording some of our sim matches to get that info out as well. I’ll see what I can do
NoChin, PLEASE, thank you!!!!!!!
Anything you can do to help, would be awesome….you’ve done so much already. The best I’ve done was at St. Andrews (which I LOVE that course). Everyplace else, I have “flashes” of brillance, but generally my rounds hover around Par to 5 above Par (too many approach shots hit TOO long or short leading to long putts for birdie but don’t make).
Also, I’m glad to know you play with the Advanced Swing….but I use the putt meter and the yardages…I don’t have a “yardage book” not to! LOL!!!! And the No Aim Zooming is crazy!!!
Anyways…gotta go to Gary Player’s course for a tourney!
Hit me up when you got something!
Law…
I’ve been playing basically the “sim” setup. I do use the putt meter, but no preview. I don’t use practice shots unless it’s to see if I’m obviously going to hit a tree. (I figure in a real life this is obvious, but harder to tell in the game.) I do use the yardage meter and aim zooming, but I think using these settings are as close to “real golf” as possible. I have to ween myself off the putt meter I guess.
NoChin – any luck getting on the Par 5 in 1 at Doral? (or is it bay hill?)
Which par 5 do you mean? If you’re talking about the first hole in the above video, then yes, I have gotten there if the wind is right. But then I seem to always blow the long putt for double eagle.
oh wow 1 inch away from 30 under par at 7. nice putt though. and nice round
I know! You don’t know how sick that made me
Thanks for stopping by, LongHitter.
Hi there
Am on the Isle of Wight in England and started getting into TW10 about 6 months ago. This website is full of some amazing stuff that will really help my game. Excellent to see your -29 at Doral. I shot -40 over 4 rounds there and thought I was doing really well!!! (The 16th was my nemesis though in every round-couldn`t get the slope right AT ALL). Just got Tour Champion status today which I am really pleased with considering I was completely useless when I started. Keep up the good work.
Pete
Hey Pete, thanks for stopping by. I just played a round this morning with one of my fantastic Brit friends, who I met through the game.
I’m glad to see we’re getting some more!
Feel free to stop by and chat at the EA forums. There are several British and other European players there who would probably love to get a game in with you sometime. The time difference makes it tough for me to catch them at a good time. Also, there is an online club called the British Amateur Golf Society you may be interested in. You can find links to all this stuff in my “Useful Links” section which you can find tabbed at the top of this page.
Again, welcome!
